My default shooting and edit styles are closer to documentarian/editorial photography than they are to pictorial/expressive photography. I focus on capturing an accurate picture of what is happening as opposed to taking an artistic liberty via dramatic composition or color edits. My primary goal is not solely to compel the viewer with an arresting visual, but rather to insert them into the perspective of the scene as if they were there.

That being said, I often can’t help slipping in a bit of drama every now and then.
